We serve an amazing God!!! He heard every prayer and wrote this beautiful love story just as He planned it. We are thankful for every one of your faithful prayers...we felt them all powerfully today! None of us were sure what to expect, but this turned out better than we could have hoped for. As I (Hannah) think about waiting in that room full of parents and children in the time before we received her, I can still feel the butterflies in my stomach. I tried to steady my shaky hand to videotape the monumental occasion when Josie was finally brought out. As many of you will recognize, she looks a lot like her pictures, but it is a huge blessing to be able to experience her in "real life" at long last! The first few moments were beautiful to witness. Josie was sweet, calm, and cautious. My mom got to be the first one to hold her but each of us took our turn...we are in LOVE!! It has been exciting to watch her facial expressions transform from the concern she obviously felt when we first received her to cracking a little grin at the hotel. We have all enjoyed snuggling with her, marveling at the obvious hand of God in all of this. Here are a few of the many pictures we took today. Thank you for rejoicing with us!!

What a blessing for your family. We showed the the pictures to Mirian and she now knows a new word - Josie. She is anxious to meet and play with her new friend.

ReplyDeleteOh Amy! I'm weeping looking at these pics and seeing your watery, mamas eyes so full of love for this girl you all have crossed an ocean to love in person. So thankful that Father desires to put orphans in families and that you answered that call. Cannot wait to get our China babies together when you've settled in. Will be praying fervently for Josie and you all over the next days as you adjust to each other and become the family you're meant to be. So thankful.
