The concept of adoption has taken on the face of Josie, and the word "excited" doesn't begin to capture the emotions we girls feel right now. Even at this moment our living room floor is covered with suitcases, diapers, clothes, snacks for the 16 hour flights, and anything and everything else we could think of to bring along. Looking around we realize all of a sudden that this is for real. After all the waiting we are so near to a huge life change, and yet we know we will not be able to fully understand the magnitude until that long-awaited moment when Josie is in our arms.
We ask for your continued prayers, not only for our preparation but especially that the Lord will prepare Josie's heart for the change she is about to go through--and likely doesn't even know it yet. We trust that God will continue to be faithful, because He has already done "...immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine" (Ephesians 3:20).
This song, "Who You Are" by Kristian Stanfill, speaks to me (Hannah) as I think about what Josie's life must be like right now. The line "You hold the orphan in your loving arms" is a beautiful reminder, not only that the Lord is holding Josie while she waits for us to come and get her, but that He is holding each of us while we wait for that glorious day when He will come and take us all home!
Nice job, Hannah Banana! You sound like Mrs. Roelofs.
